MechSense® Accelerometer Family of Products Overview:

The MechSense Accelerometer product line includes: MechSense Digital, MechSense Hybrid, MechSense Analog, and MechManager^TM software. MechManager is required for digital modes of operation with MechSense Digital and Hybrid. The software also allows you to use MechSense Digital as an inclinometer .

MechSense Digital is the first stand-alone, re-configurable, digital accelerometer system capable of measuring accelerations in 2 or 3 directions. MechSense significantly broadens the way sensing problems can now be addressed. Not only does MechSense offer breakthrough technology and ease of use, it also eliminates the need for additional sensing accessories such as power supply (for USB models only), filters and data acquisition boards. This will save on cost, time to market, and integration risk.

MechSense Digital can also be used as an inclinometer. This feature allows for the measurement of the degree of inclination of an object the sensor is attached to.

MechSense Hybrid (Analog and Digital Output) is the first stand-alone re-configurable accelerometer system with both analog and digital outputs. It is capable of measuring accelerations in up to 3 directions. MechSense Hybrid, has all the advantages of its digital counterpart (i.e. it can be configured using a computer) while providing an analog output for conventional use. It also eliminates the need for additional sensing accessories such as filters and data acquisition boards. This will also save on cost, time to market, and integration risk.

MechSense Analog was developed in close collaboration with automotive Tier 1 manufacturers, using QS-9000 standards. MechSense Analog is carefully engineered for cost sensitive applications, which still require good performance. MechSense Analog is capable of measuring acceleration in 2 directions as well as providing a temperature output. This compact system is ideal for high-volume production (e.g. various vibration testing and control applications).

There are two types of MechSense Analog: the MA-A series (High Accuracy) and the MA-E series (High Endurance). The MA-E series has been developed through close collaboration with automotive Tier 1 manufacturers, using QS-9000 standards. This compact MechSense Analog version is ideal for high-endurance situations as well as high-volume, low cost production and it meets strict automotive standards. The MA-A Series is ideal for situations where a high degree of accuracy is required and endurance under extreme conditions is less of a factor.

MechTrack^TM

MechTrack is a fully compensated, six degree-of-freedom (DOF) digital inertial measurement unit (IMU) for many applications including vehicle dynamics measurement and control systems, autonomous vehicles and robotics.  It integrates 3 linear accelerometers and 3 angular rate gyros with user-adjustable signal conditioning, 12-bit resolution and an update rate of up to 500Hz.  The MechSense IMU accelerometers are available in ranges ±2g and ±10g.   The gyros are available in ranges of ±75°/s, ±150°/s, or ±300°/s.  MechSense IMU is available in a compact, mountable and hermetically sealed package.
