An inclinometer, or tilt sensor, is an instrument that is used to find the angle of the object with respect to the horizontal plane by obtaining the direction of the gravity. It is used in many applications such as finding tilt of vehicles, medical probes, and machinery. Since an accelerometer measures acceleration and gravity of the sensor axis, accelerometers can be used as inclinometer when the sensor is nearly static. Mechsense accelerometers can measure tilt angles in 360° in all directions.
